NOTHING IS LIKE IT USED TO BE

This project consists of two series of photographs, eight colour prints and ten black and white prints.
Part 1, the colour photographs are close-ups on the suburban landscape, where I have focused on objects, mainly litter, which people have left behind. I have chosen to photograph this way from a perspective we seldom watch our surroundings. The litter has become the dominant part of the pictures and more of a threat to us then it is in the reality.
In part 2, the black and white photographs I watch the same landscape, but at a distance. The result has been idyllic landscape photographs which are similar to landscape photography from the 40's and 50's. But when you take a close look at them there are also disturbing elements like paperbaskets, graffiti and lampposts.
The last years I mainly have been working in suburbs in Göteborg and Stockholm to investigate different phenomena which is common in these kind of areas.
Part 1 of the project, the colour prints has been exhibited at Göteborgs Stadsmuseum in May 2000. Both part 1 and 2 was exhibited at Galleri TU, Stockholm in August 2001.
