| This work is a series of six photographs showing red, white and blue clothes-pegs. In each picture one clothes-peg is missing and replaced by a label with the text – this object has been removed. The title and the project have its origin in labels with a similar text I discovered at The Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford. In this project I have worked with the theses that the status of an object changes when it is placed in a different context. When an object is moved to a now context it goes through a change from something ordinary to an object which is no longer used for its original purpose. The series can also be a game, where the viewer gets the opportunity to guess which kind of clothes-peg is missing. If you take your time to study the photographs closely you realize that you can not determine which kind of clothes-peg is missing. The six pictures are also photographed at different dates, which the labels indicate. The only thing you know for sure is that either a red, white or blue clothes-peg has been moved. The work with this project took place at Nordisk Kunstnarsenter in Dale, Norway, March 2005. |
